This is a reminder of CUNY’s requirement that researchers – faculty, students and post-docs – be versed in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and meet training requirements. CUNY’s policy statement on RCR training is here. It calls for faculty advisors to provide training and general guidance for students on ethics issues specific to their research. Researchers must also comply with any sponsor obligations, such as those required by the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
This year’s fall CUNY-wide RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research) workshop presented by CUNY Graduate Center will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd from 9:30am-11:30am at the CUNY Graduate Center in the Proshansky Auditorium (Concourse level), 365 Fifth Avenue (at 34th St.). Register for the workshop at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2TPSN5D
Presenter: Farida Lada, Associate University Provost for Research Administration & Compliance
The workshop is aimed primarily at our incoming PhD students but all CUNY students, faculty, administrators and post-docs are welcome to attend.
RCR addresses, among other things, the fabrication and falsification of data, plagiarism, the relationship between mentors and trainees, conflicts of interest, authorship agreements, data management and collaborative research.
